Cat Tracker Course Module

Welcome to the Cat Tracker project, an exciting Citizen Science project you can use in the classroom. The resources we have provided will help you to plan and implement community-connected science, with an emphasis on thinking and working scientifically. But there’s more than science involved! These resources provide cross-curriculum links to mathematics, geography, history and the Arts.

  • Students will ask questions about domestic cats and design and conduct their own investigations based on their inquiry
  • Students will communicate their findings to a broader community
  • Students will calculate a cat’s home range using map data
  • Students will explore cultural and historical relevance of cats
  • Students will access and evaluate local laws related to cats and pet ownership
