Welcome to the Cat Tracker project, an exciting Citizen Science project you can use in the classroom. The resources we have provided will help you to plan and implement community-connected science, with an emphasis on thinking and working scientifically. But there’s more than science involved! These resources provide cross-curriculum links to mathematics, geography, history and the Arts.
Cat Tracker Course Module
- Students will ask questions about domestic cats and design and conduct their own investigations based on their inquiry
- Students will communicate their findings to a broader community
- Students will calculate a cat’s home range using map data
- Students will explore cultural and historical relevance of cats
- Students will access and evaluate local laws related to cats and pet ownership
